TV guide (EPG) for your playlists
The electronic programme guide (EPG) shows what is on each channel and the programmes of the next days. In TVS Player the guide turns on by itself: no files or addresses to look for.
Where the guide comes from
- From the playlist: if your M3U playlist declares a guide (
url-tvgorx-tvg-url), it is used. - From free guides by country: the player works out the countries of your channels (for example from codes like
BBCOne.uk) and loads the public XMLTV guides of those countries. You can also pick the countries in Settings.
Channel matching
Each channel is matched to the guide by its code (tvg-id) or its name. If the same channel has editions for different regions (Europe, Australia, the Americas), each gets its own schedule: never another region’s.
Where you see it
- Under each channel name: the programme on now and the next one.
- On the Guide page: the programme grid, day by day.
- In the player: title, time and description of the programme.

Frequently asked questions
Is the TV guide free?
Yes, in the browser and in the TVS Player app. In the Pro app the full guide also lets you schedule recordings.
Why does a channel have no guide?
Not every channel has a public guide. If the channel name or code in the playlist is very different from the guide’s, matching may fail.
Which format is used?
XMLTV, the standard TV guide format, also compressed (.xml.gz).
